I predicted a problem with the Backstreet Boys NFTs, and boy was I right. Mess from semantics to ease of access concern I discuss in the following video and written reaction. First, however, fans, it is time to do your own research because it will not be forthcoming for the source.

Please refer to my original NFTs overview for more context, as I elaborate on some points I made there.

Backstreet Boys sow confusion once again with what should be a simple consolation gift.

Backstreet Boys Fann Frustration is Back : this time over NFTs.

The confusion over the distribution and nature of the Backstreet Boys NFTs comes from the same core issue of poor communication that I mentioned in my follow-up piece about the Christmas show cancellations. When the Backstreet Boys said they were out giving NFTs, I was under the impression these were for everyone who held on to their DNA tickets s. They mentioned nothing about bidding. However, now I know what these are, I am not surprised. As I said before, these are investments. You are bidding on them like securities in the investment market because that’s what they are. Cryptocurrency experts are not necessarily well-versed in NFT and vice-versa. I asked one who started following me on Twitter about NFTs, and she knew nothing about This is despite the fact they are based on cryptocurrency code. Mostly, these are b. Then the principle of exclusivity is also at play. Personally, I don’t care about exclusivity if you incentivizing me to hold on to something just a little longer. N addition, there is lingering confusion over what they are in general Fans overlook the codes themselves. They are not autographs. They are id codes akin to VINs, as mentioned before, since many of the same pieces can be out there. These are the core of NFTs because they make the images non-exchangeable or fungible.

Setbacks I mentioned present in the Backstreet NFTs setup.

Here are examples of fan frustration from the What Happens On The Backstreet blog Twitter ran by Sara Taylor

The NFT’s are a joke aren’t they? No idea what they are yet we’re expected to buy them or bid on them? πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

How many NFTs are we supposed to get?

If you are concerned about why your NFT wallet says a number over 1, but you only see the video πŸ‘‡

We *think* it means you “own” four copies of the video. Like if this wasn’t given to you, you purchased it four times and, if it were something someone wanted, you could sell it four times.

Again overall experience was I another weakness I mentioned here is an example with the Backstreet Boys NFTs For instance, are the fans getting what they were promised. I am confused here as well. Does the quantity mean 4 copies of the same piece or 4 separate ones? Given the uniqueness of each one, the latter is more likely. They could 1 each series as they are released hence why the original user has received all of them yet And the how real Meets And Greets are available with the virtual pass NFT?

I think everyone got that, and everyone has 5 chances to win one of the 5 actual meets and greets…so maybe it’s like the golden ticket! Lol, open it and see! πŸ˜‚

Are there good marketers on their team?

So yes, fans, let’s start another Blame Nick campaign because he has promoted this as a consumer product when they are not there yet. He probably sold group management the idea without a complete understanding of what they were and distribution logistics. It is the annoying act of following a trend for a trends’ sake so common in marketing. In fact, Sara echoed my i sentiments exactly.

That was the first time that most of us had heard the NFT term. Since then, we’ve listened to a lot more about them, thanks to Nick. Have we learned much? No. Not really

Sara on the annoucment of Backstree giving NFTs as conslation gfts for the onec more del;ayed DNA shows

Don’t depend too much on Nick for information. He probably likes the images more than anything else. He may not even consider himself an expert despite knowing about cryptocurrencyRemember, NFTs are a separate matter. His quirky interest may be too intellectual for some. However, my philosophical bent \ help me understand this stuff. n addition, there is plenty of information out there, no excuse not to search for details at your understanding level Sara is trying her best as the official fanbase informer, but she doesn’t understand much more than the average fan.

The NFT confusion in conclusion defeats the purpose of giving them out

Again I agree with Sara that this is not the model for future consumer-oriented NFTs. This was placate fans but ending up frustrating them more. Will there be another fan revolt in the future over this? However, I saw an Intro still of Nick. It looks good. Kudos to the creator since quality doesn’t even seem to be an issue here.
