Don’t be a BSB Christmas Party pooper over prices

I always take issue when I see things like this . people are frustrated with Backstreet Boys Christmas show ticket prices. I get it, but you should direct to the sellers if you want your venting to be productive. Calling the high prices extortion is slanderous hyperbole, especially if implying it’s from the guys themselves. They are incapable of such a thing, considering what they went through with Lou Pearlman. The current US inflationary environment could be driving already high prices much more. I did think a starting price of $89 was a little much. However, I am not blaming the group for the bad live show economics right now.
Don’t be demanding
The guys don’t set the prices, unfortunately. I am sure if they did, they would try to make it as affordable as possible. This person’s accusation that guys don’t give anything to fans is simply not true either. . The Christmas shows are proof to the contrary. They have added to their already busy schedule because they wanted to reconnect with their fans before the end of 2021. Usually, it takes months of planning and rehearsal to put something like this together. They will only be rehearsing for about 6-8 weeks before the November start date. And don’t forget Nick and AJ are doing their own show before this. Soon after the Christmas show, they will be prepping to go out on the twice-delayed DNA second leg if things go according to plan.
Be your own Fan
As various bloggers have said, you don’t have to participate in every activity to be a fan. If you can only afford to go to a concert that’s fine. You don’t have to go to a Meet and Greet. Be lucky you have that chance to see them because even a concert ticket can be too expensive for some people. I was ecstatic about this show as I am one state to the southeast away from Las Vegas in Arizona. However, I have very little money, especially for accommodations, much less the tickets. Foreign fans, who were a big part of the previous residency’s audience, can’t even make it due to COVID travel restrictions. Yet I don’t see them making ridiculous accusations against the guys.
Show biz economics is a Bitch
You also have to understand that the entertainment industry was hit hard by COVID. Increasing margin is usually more sustainable to make a profit, but a higher margin still means higher prices. The Backstreet Boys can command such prices. Don’t think the guys themselves are out to gouge you. They have to play by business economics, too, which the pandemic has skewed. So, keep it in perspective. There will be other opportunities to see them that are hopefully within your budget. Things are coming back to life post lockdown, and the Backstreet Boys are just getting started if COVID doesn’t keep rearing its ugly head.
